At DGI, we spoke to Dylan Hawkes, Director of Consulting at CGI, to see why they choose to sponsor year after year
Dylan: We rebooked because, for our client set, this is the main conference in the world. It’s important that we have a presence here so we can meet the people that we’re working with and build new relationships and networks.
Dylan: The same delegates from the geospatial intelligence community attend, but they’re all the right people, the right level of seniority, and the ones we want to talk to. The drinks reception was great, with a very relaxed atmosphere and a good chance to build connections before they approached us at our booth. I think the networking opportunities are one of the things that sets DGI apart from other conferences; it’s much more personal and allows you to have relaxed conversations.
Dylan: They’ve definitely been relevant and useful; there’s a big AI theme. It’s good to hear from the people we’re going to work with as well, as we need to know their problems to come up with solutions for them.
Dylan: Our key clients are here, so we want to be associated with DGI. It’s important to maintain the relationships we already have, and here, we can do that. The conversations here in person are different from when you’re at the workplace because people come here wanting to engage and learn, so they have a different mindset, which leads to more valuable conversations.
This is the main conference for the geospatial intelligence community, so yes, it’ll have a positive impact for us.
