Director, Systems Acquisition US Army Geospatial Centre

In August of 2013, Mr. Daniel Visone became the Director for the Systems Acquisition & Support Directorate of the U.S. Army Geospatial Center, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As the director, he is responsible for leading the group that provides GEOINT engineering and domain support to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology System of Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate; Program Manager, Distributed Common Ground System – Army; Project Director, Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities; and Program Manager, Terrestrial Sensors for the implementation of the Army Geospatial Enterprise. Mr. Visone ensures quick response Geospatial, Imagery and Human Intelligence capabilities and serves as the lead for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ programs for Electronic Navigation Charts, Chanel Framework, National Inventory of Dams and Vertical Datum Standardization. Mr. Visone took this role after serving as the Director, Geospatial Acquisition Support Directorate. He has also managed Battlespace Terrain Reasoning and Awareness Battle Command and Joint-Geospatial Enterprise Service programs. Mr. Visone has honed a deep understanding of geospatial requirements by serving at nearly every echelon of leadership within the organization since the start of his career as a lead software engineer. A graduate of State University of New York at Buffalo, Mr. Visone completed an undergraduate degree in geography. He has attended Leadership for a Democratic Society, Federal Executive Institute, and many other Army training experiences. He has received numerous accolades for his professional work to include Director’s awards, Superior Civilian Service award and the De Fleury Medal. He is an active volunteer in his community. He has a National D Coaching License, Virginia Youth Soccer Association. He has also earned the Lions Club International President’s Leadership Medal and the Lions Club of Virginia Distinguished Humanitarian Award.
