Founded in 1963, the British Cartographic Society is a learned society with charitable status with a broad membership base. Our membership is open to all working in or with an interest in map making and geographic data visualisation, and includes national mapping agencies, cartographers, GIS specialists, publishers, academics, map curator and those who simply love maps. Members benefit from regular publications, talks and networking opportunities. The Society offers educational workshops for secondary schools, as well as resources for teachers, map curators and those interested in geographic data visualisation.
