Alexander Babuta

Lead in the Defence and Security Programm Alan Turing Institute

Alexander Babuta is Theme Lead for National Security and Technology Policy within the Defence and Security Programme at the Alan Turing Institute. His research focuses on the policy implications of emerging technology for UK national security. He previously worked within the UK Government as AI Futures Lead at the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation, and before this as a Research Fellow in National Security at the Royal United Services Institute. He is Vice-Chair of the Essex Data Ethics Committee, Associate Fellow at the University of Bristol, and Research Associate at the National Centre for Gang Research (University of West London). He holds an MSc in Crime Science and a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics (both from University College London), and is currently studying for a Doctorate in Criminology.
