Brigadier General Letchumanan Narayanan

In his 23 years with the SAF, Brigadier-General (BG) Letchumanan has served multiple tours in diverse areas, spanning strategic planning to regional research to capability development. Beyond the SAF, BG Letchumanan was seconded to the Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth (MCCY) as Senior Director of Resilience and Engagement Division.

In 2022, he led efforts to establish the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) as the SAF’s fourth service. Prior to that, he was the Commander of the Imagery Support Group, responsible for the SAF’s geospatial capabilities. He is currently Commander of the Joint Intelligence Command (JIC), where he continues charting new frontiers.

BG Letchumanan was awarded the SAF Overseas Scholarship in 2001 and graduated from the Carnegie Mellon University, USA in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and in Economics.
