Brigadier General Dr Pötzsch, Directorate-General for Innovation and Cyber at the Federal Ministry of Defence in Berlin. He was until recently Chief of Division for Cyber-/IT-Governance and Chief AI Officer at the Federal Ministry of Defence. His division is responsible for the cyber and digital policy, including national cyber security as well as national and international cooperation. Furthermore, it hosts the responsibility for research and development, and for innovations in the field of cyber and information technology. Equipped with experience and expertise from various command assignments and assignments as a desk officer and head of branch in the Federal Ministry of Defense, he led a German task force in Slovakia in 2022/2023 to help to protect against Russian threats. Most recently he was responsible for armaments and procurement in the IT sector. Brigadier General Pötzsch holds a doctorate in computer science and gained an in-depth insight into national and international security structures as a participant in the core seminar on security policy at the Federal Academy for Security Policy.
