Callum Peebles

Callum Peebles joined Blue Shield International as Director in November 2025.  Blue Shield International is international branch of an independent, impartial, neutral, international organisation that protects cultural heritage (tangible and intangible), in the event of armed conflict, natural- or human-made disaster.  Callum is a senior executive leader with two decades' experience directing large-scale humanitarian operations in conflict-affected states. As Director of Programmes at The HALO Trust, he was responsible for the strategic oversight of 6,500 staff and a $75 million portfolio spanning volatile environments from Abkhazia to the Solomon Islands. He has led governance reform and risk mitigation planning at the global level, and has overseen complex operational responses such as logistical support the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami in Sri Lanka, and a complex project destroying over a thousand tonnes of landmines and ammunition in Afghanistan. He specializes in translating global strategy into operational execution while ensuring robust accountability to major government donors. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and is currently completing an MBA.
