Mr. Christopher M. Parrett serves as the Director, Analytical Technologies Office, Research & Development (R&D) at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
He leads research into artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cutting-edge geospatial technology advances to enhance the speed, precision, and accuracy of NGA’s safety, warning, and targeting missions.
Mr. Parrett previously served as the GEOINT Mission Manager for Targeting and Military Issues — the principal advisor to the GEOINT Functional Manager on matters pertaining to the integration of Targeting and Foundational Military Intelligence.
Mr. Parrett began his career in 1998 as a computer engineer supporting the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In 2004, he joined federal service with the U.S. Army’s Intelligence and Security Command, under which he served in analytic and leadership roles with organizations including the 704th Military Intelligence Brigade, 66th Military Intelligence Brigade, and the National Ground Intelligence Center.
Before joining NGA, Chris served as the GEOINT Lead for the Army’s Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2, at the Pentagon.
Mr. Parrett holds an MA in Strategic Intelligence from the American Military University, an MS in Geographic Information Systems from Pennsylvania State University, and a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University.
He is currently a PhD candidate in the Computational Social Science program at George Mason University.
Mr. Parrett is the recipient of three Army Superior Civilian Service Medals and the Knowlton Award.
