Chris Parry currently works at the UK Hydrographic Office and is responsible for its relationships across Whitehall departments, Arm’s Length Bodies, policy development and oversight of its secretariat function. He has previously been on secondment within the FCO on maritime policy, acted as the SME on Safety and Security of Navigation (including the marine element of post conflict stabilisation) for NATO and developed the concept and business cases for international development projects such as the Commonwealth Marine Economies Programme and the Overseas Territories Sea Bed Mapping Programme.
Chris is also an Information Warfare Officer in the Royal Navy Reserve officer (28 years), is currently the Commanding Officer of HMS Flying Fox in Bristol. He is a Fellow of IMAREST, a Chartered Marine Scientist, has an MA in Maritime Policy and was appointed MBE for his teams work on anti-piracy operations.
