Colonel Albert Mannard joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1997 and graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in 2002. He served as an Armour officer in the Canadian Army before transferring to the Canadian Intelligence Corps in 2007.

Over the course of his career, LCol Mannard has held a variety of command and staff appointments in the Canadian Army, the Canadian Forces School of Military Intelligence, and the Canadian Forces Intelligence Command. He is currently Assistant Chief of Staff Ops, Central Forces Intelligence Command and was previously the commanding officer of the Canadian Forces Joint Imagery Centre (CFJIC) in Ottawa. The role of CFJIC is to provide accurate, timely and relevant defence imagery and imagery intelligence in support of the Canadian defence mandate.

Colonel Mannard has served in international military operations with deployed NATO forces in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Afghanistan, and in Italy during the intervention in Libya. He holds Master’s degrees in defence studies and war studies from the Royal Military College of Canada and King’s College London. He is a graduate of the Canadian Forces College’s Joint Command and Staff Programme.
