Dan London is Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Support for BAE Systems’ Geospatial eXploitation Products (GXP) Group. Enabling development of advanced geospatial intelligence, GXP software solutions deliver an unrivaled capacity for discovery, exploitation, and dissemination of mission-critical geospatial data. Prior to joining BAE Systems, Dan led the management team of a technology start-up called VITec®. Initially focused on hardware development, VITec produced image processing boards for Sun computers that were sold to the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. In 1987, Dan’s team at VITec, in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force and Defense Intelligence Agency, developed an Electronic Light Table (ELT) software application that represented one of the first ELTs in the industry. As the business expanded, he transitioned VITec from a hardware company into a successful software development organization. In 1996, Dan recognized an opportunity to merge VITec’s ELT, which had become a leading image analyst solution, with SOCET SET®, the preeminent geospatial analyst package from BAE Systems. Soon thereafter, he orchestrated the sale of VITec to BAE Systems, with the goal of building a new product from the core components of both VITec’s ELT and SOCET SET. This came to fruition with the development of SOCET GXP®, GXP’s flagship software solution, which was released in 2003. Since then, Dan has been responsible for the development and introduction of several new software solutions including GXP Xplorer®, which is an industry-leading data search and discover tool. In addition to his roles with VITec and BAE Systems, Dan has held various positions in the technology industry including several years at General Electric as a National Account Manager. He holds a Bachelor‘s degree from Virginia Tech.
