Dan Williams

Chief Product Officer Cambridge Intelligence
Dan Williams has over 25 years experience in technology solutions for sectors ranging from aerospace and defence to cybersecurity and law enforcement. At Cambridge Intelligence, he steers the long-term development of a suite of visualisation libraries that help analysts make better decisions from complex, connected data. The Cambridge Intelligence technology suite supports the fusion of multiple data sources into intuitive, interactive visualisations to provide better data analysis and situational awareness. Amongst other applications, this technology is highly adopted in areas such as link analysis, OSINT and GeoINT data fusion, cyber threat intelligence and financial crime investigation. Dan holds a Masters Degree in Physics, awarded by the University of Oxford in 2000. His background in the technology industry goes back to 2001, where he worked at D-Cubed (now acquired by Siemens) on some of the core geometric engines now used in almost every major commercial Computer Aided Design software system. Prior to Cambridge Intelligence, Dan was Director of Enterprise Products at Granta Design (now acquired by ANSYS). Guided by a consortium of industry contractors and US Government Labs and agencies, including NASA, Los Alamos National Labs, Sandia National Labs and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Granta’s technology was used by a demanding customer base of blue-chip aerospace, defense and consumer electronics companies to improve their engineering and innovation processes. Dan’s current focus is on understanding how human-machine interfaces need to evolve to support good decision making amid the growing complexity of AI-generated insight and open-source data overload.
