George Krakie

Director, NGA Support Team US European Command National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency


Mr. George “Skip” Krakie serves as Director, NGA Support Team United States European Command (USEUCOM) and geospatial-intelligence (GEOINT) functional manger. In this role he leads a diverse team of civilian and military analysts, staff personnel and contractors in providing the full range of NGA’s GEOINT products and services to the European Theater.

Prior to this assignment, Mr. Krakie served as the Director of Commonwealth Integration in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence where he led efforts to improved integration of the Five-Eyes Defense Intelligence Enterprise. Previous NGA assignments include: the Director of Plans & Business Operations for the Analysis Directorate; Portfolio Lead for the Analytic Capabilities; and Deputy Chief of the NGA Support Team at the State Department. In 2013, Mr. Krakie deployed in support of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) CJ2, Afghanistan to work ISR Processing, Exploitation & Dissemination issues.

Before joining NGA, Mr. Krakie served 25 years in the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence officer. His assignments included Chief of the Intelligence Analysis Division at the Air Force Intelligence Analysis Agency; Acting Deputy Director of Intelligence (J2) at U.S. Joint Forces Command; Commander of the 607th Air Intelligence Squadron in the Republic of Korea; and Military Assistant to the NGA Director. Mr. Krakie is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School and, as a National Defense Fellow, served as a Legislative Assistant in the House of Representatives. Mr. Krakie earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations with honors from Boston University; a Master of Science in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle University; and Master of Science in National Security Strategy from National War College. Skip and his wife Loretta live in Stuttgart, Germany and have six children: Captain Cathryn Krakie (USAF), Second Lieutenant Stephen Krakie (USA), Andrew, Megan, EmiliAni and Kevin
