Giuseppe D’Amico

Deputy Director EU Satellite Centre (EUSATCEN)

Brigadier General Giuseppe D’Amico joined the Italian Air Force Academy in 1980 and, as an Italian Air Force Officer, he was employed as a military navigator from 1986 and also as Intelligence Officer from 1988.

In 2001 he was appointed Head of the Strategic Transport Policy Section in the Logistics Department of the Defence General Staff and from 2005 to 2009 he took up roles in the Transformation & Planning Department of the Air Force Staff. First as Head of the Space Force Planning Section, then as Head of the Budget Management by Objectives Section and finally as Deputy Head of the C4ISTAR Planning Office (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Targeting Acquisition and Reconnaissance).

After four years as Director of the Joint Satellite Remote Sensing Centre - Intelligence & Security Department (2009-2013), Giuseppe D’Amico took up the post as Head of the International Cooperation Office at the National Armament Directorate (2013-2015).

On 3 August 2015, he was appointed as Deputy Director of the EU Satellite Centre.

He has a Master’s Degree in International and Diplomatic Studies, a Post-Lauream Master’s in International Military Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Sciences.
