Ingrid H.J. Vanden Berghe graduated as an agricultural engineer at
KULeuven, specialized in soil science. She started as a researcher before
joining the public service. She was advisor to the minister of Environment,
Public Works, Town and Land Use Planning. and director of the research center
of the Christian Democrat parties. In 2002 she was appointed General administrator
of the National Geographic Institute. She was President of EuroGeographics from
2012 to 2018, and is a member of the board of several research organizations
and visiting professor at KULeuven. She also chairs the G-Cloud Strategic
Board, coordinating ICT activities of the federal government.
