Col Lisa Baspaly-Hays joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1994. She served on OP ATHENA (Afghanistan) Roto10 and 11 as an Intelligence Officer. Her early career was spent at 409 Tactical Fighter Squadron in Cold Lake, AB. In 2012, she was posted to 1 Canadian Air Division where she led the early development of Air Force targeting and airborne intelligence collection capabilities, before deploying in 2015 on OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE, the Canadian Forces contribution to the war in Syria and Iraq. Other Staff positions include EA to COS CDS, NORAD J2 D/COS, Deputy Commander CF Int Group, and Deputy J2 for NORAD and USNORTHCOM. She is a former Commandant of the Canadian Forces School of Meteorology and was the 9 Wing Commander 2019-2021. She is currently the Commander of the Canadian Forces Intelligence Group. Col Baspaly-Hays has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Winnipeg, a Master of Science degree from the University of Manitoba, and a Master of Defense Studies degree from the Royal Military College. She is a graduate of the Canadian Armed Forces Joint Command and Staff Program and the United States Air Force Air War College.
