Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Lieutenant-Colonel Carolyn Hincke joined the Canadian Armed Forces as an Intelligence Officer in 2006, studying Political Science at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) in Kingston, Ontario. Upon graduation in 2010, LCol Hincke completed her Basic Intelligence Officer Course. Throughout her career, Lieutenant-Colonel Hincke has held various positions including Senior Intelligence Duty Officer, Processing Exploitation Dissemination Flight Officer, Tactical Aviation Squadron Intelligence Officer, 4 Wing Chief of Staff, and Deputy Commanding Officer of the Canadian Forces Joint Imagery Centre. She has also deployed on Op MOBILE (2011) and Op IMPACT (2015) providing intelligence support to targeting, and again on Op IMPACT (2017) as the Tactical Aviation Battalion Intelligence Officer. In 2024, LCol Hincke was promoted to her current rank and took over the role of Commanding Officer of the Joint Intelligence Operations Centre. Lieutenant-Colonel Hincke holds a Masters in Intelligence Operations and is a graduate of the Joint Command and Staff Programme. She is an avid cross-country skier, amateur baker, and enjoys spending time outdoors in every Canadian season.
