During January to March 2022, Major Patrick Snow worked as Commander NCGI’s Liaison Officer to Defence Intelligence (London). He initially oversaw the production of a strategic level ground analysis for the Chief of Defence Intelligence, before working with the Defence Directorate of Communications to produce the intelligence products that were released to the public on 17 Feb 22, reaching millions of people. He then oversaw the production and media release of the MOD’s daily map updates from 24 Feb 22 onwards. He commands 16 Geographic Support Squadron, which provides: analytical geospatial support to Defence; teams at extremely high readiness (1 hour) to deploy on UK operations; IT support; data support; and capability development. His previous roles include the Executive Officer for the National Centre for Geospatial Intelligence (NCGI), a staff role within the Centre for Intelligence Innovation, GeoInt lead for a 2* formation, regimental operations officer for NCGI-Deployable, and Chief Geo to Task Force Helmand. He holds an MSc in Geospatial Intelligence from Cranfield and an MA (Cantab) in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
