Leader of multiple centers of geospatial excellence in Greece and around Europe Professor Zalidis is a recognized leader in the global geospatial information community. Currently Council Member,Professor in the Laboratory of Applied Soil Science and Director of the Laboratory of Remote Sensing and G.I.S., at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Faculty of Agriculture Professor Zalidis also acts as Scientific Director, Inter balkan Environment Center (i-BEC) and Special Expert –Representative of the Special Secretariat for Water, Hellenic Republic,Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change. His work at the InterBalkan Environmental Center focuses on integrated management and protection of both trans boundary watersheds and natural resources within the context of sustainable development, through innovative applications and more effective governance.
