The University of Exeter is an internationally renowned academic research and education centre. It has over 200 academics engaged in the defence, security and resilience domains. It offers multi-disciplinary expertise including humanitarian and disaster relief, imagery intelligence, climate security, offshore energy operations and critical infrastructure management. It offers a range of applied GIS courses and degree programmes, combining cutting edge research with innovative technological development. Short courses can be designed and tailored in collaboration with organisations and government departments to ensure that they meet clients’ needs. The University has a range of institutes involved - the Centre for Environmental Intelligence, Global Sustainability Institute and the Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence- the most IPCC climate scientists engaged, carries out research for the UK Space Agency, has links to the Goonhilly earth station and the spaceport in Cornwall and is strong on the legal and ethical dimensions of new technologies and implementation. The University is proud to host the Defence Data Research Centre, a hub of research and developments in AI, machine learning and data exploitation. The University works with national and international stakeholders, including an AUKUS consortium, to deliver interdisciplinary approaches to overcome barriers to the use of data and emerging technologies. The University is also involved in running a ground-breaking MBA in Defence and Space, with the Universities of Adelaide and Carnegie-Mellon. “
