The University of Exeter is an internationally renowned academic research and education centre. It has over 200 academics engaged in the defence, security and resilience domains. It offers multi-disciplinary expertise including humanitarian and disaster relief, imagery intelligence, climate security, offshore energy operations and critical infrastructure management. It offers a range of applied GIS courses with associated research developing teaching tools and innovative technology. The University has an Environment and Sustainability Institute, the most IPCC climate scientists in the world, carries out research for the UK Space Agency and has links to the Goonhilly earth station and the spaceport in Cornwall. The University is also strong on the legal and ethical dimensions of new technologies and implementation. The University is proud to host the Defence Data Research Centre, in partnership with Dstl, a hub of research and developments in AI, machine learning and data exploitation. The University works with national and international stakeholders, including a new AUKUS consortium, to deliver interdisciplinary approaches to overcome barriers to the use of data. As from 2024, the University will be involved in running a ground-breaking MBA in Defence and Space, with the Universities of South Australia and Carnegie- Mellon. “
